Split Drum Reversal

Most wheel sets that end up being rejected for recleat price levels or even scrapped are still within the 3/4" thick range at their center sections. Based on ultra sound measurements Radial Iron Works can apply the "Split-Drum-Reversal" method of repair to revive 5 or more years of life. These wheel sets can then be recleated or re-tipped again in the future after mounted teeth fail.  Saving you higher priced outer drum rebuild costs. Your core inner/outer edges are accepted even if wheels are severely scalloped or thin up to the sidewall surfaces. They can even have cracked sidewalls. Failed drums are cut at their centers, the new square revealed edges are reversed outwards and the bad original outer edges are cut and mounted over an internal collar to maintain true radial rotation and a straight horizontal plain for new tooth mounting. The valley is then "Radial-Arc-Overlayed" until it's surface is even with the old original drum profile. This process can be applied to wheel drums that are below 3/4" or more up to 18" inward from each outer edge. Even if the drums are below 3/4" all the way across the drum plain, we can go a step further and Radial Recast/Resurface the complete width of your drums surface back to 1"or even 2" for some wheel types.
